Why choose WordPress for your blog or website? WordPress is possibly the most popular blogging platform in the world. More than half of the websites live today are powered by WordPress, with millions of people using it. Much of it’s appeal is in how easy it is to set up, how user friendly the design is, and the minimal upkeep required.
One of my favorite things about WordPress is that there are thousands of free themes available on the internet. The theme is the overall look and layout of your website, it can dictate fonts, where widgets go, how you customize your theme and so much more. Picking a theme and trying your best not to change it can be the hardest part as so many of them are just beautiful.
Let’s take a look at several reasons why choosing WordPress is the right option for your website:
World Class Documentation:
WordPress is open source software, meaning that it is free to use and to alter. This also created very dedicated communities with extensive documentation.
If you run into a problem, you can bet you’re not the first to encounter it. A quick Google search will resolve most of your issues.
Handles all Types of Websites:
WordPress started as a blogging platform, and continues to be the greatest blogging platform. However, WordPress has blossomed into so much more than a blogging platform.
The capabilities it boasts have moved into the realms of all types of websites, and mobile applications. Most WordPress themes translate to mobile very well, with no extra setup required. This is great considering mobile devices are now the most used computing devices in the U.S.
Search Engines Love WordPress:
This cannot be stressed enough, SEO is a major concern for anyone running a website. WordPress caters to this need and even has some built in SEO features, and more you can get from plugins such as Yoast. Yoast works with a handy little red, yellow, and green traffic light to show you where your SEO will stand. Choose keyword phrases and follw it’s format without compromising your content.
There are many other plugin alternatives, this one just happens to be out favorite. After all, if nobody can find your website, what’s the point?
